In 1987, the company I worked for as a bio-medical electronics technician/engineer, closed its La Jolla CA facility. My last day of work was Friday August 28th. The next day I was to give the benediction at a meeting of the Shirley MacLaine Higher Self Seminar group. I was a part of the group because of a romantic interest in the San Diego leader of the group.

So Saturday, around 11 AM, the time came for me to do my part. I was seated along the side of an outdoor courtyard to an office building, about 30 feet from the microphone. I stood up and started walking towards the mic and something went SNAP in the back of my head. I watched my body continue to go forward. I was literally out of my body.

I'll never forget the first words Gabriel spoke through me. They were not at all what I had originally planned to say. And the voice was quite unlike my voice. He said,
"That which I Am is God; that which you are is also God. The difference is you don't KNOW it yet."

I blanked out after that as he continued to speak. Something about native Americans I think. But when I came to, several people had gathered around me. One person on my left said, "John, I didn't know you channeled." I replied, "Channel - what the heck is that? Where am I? What happened!" So almost literally out of the blue (it was a sunny day) I started channeling.

I called Gabriel just "JD" at first. I had a friend whose initials were JB; my initials (partially) were "JC". So the next in sequence seemed natural.

There were a few rough times in the beginning. Some rather humbling experiences taught me quickly that this was no ego trip, it was not to be taken lightly, and that it was for real. I confessed to being quite a skeptic. Gabriel was kind enough to bring multiple miracles every day for many weeks until I finally relented and said ok, I guess this is what I am to do now.

I did several groups during late 1987 and early 1988 for which Gabriel brought through some wonderful messages, and in the latter part of 1989, started the first formal set of discourses entitled "Creative Manifestation." There are now almost 900 recorded discourses total, evolutionary in context and content. With each teaching we evolve to greater understanding, empowerment and enlightenment.

For over 20 years now Gabriel has continued to emphasize the inner path. He has helped people with their spiritual evolution into being more the god each and everyone truly is, and to understand how you create what you experience.
